The game of basketball is all about match-ups. Exploit the mismatch and you have a chance to win. The Basketball Triathlon will test your team’s skills and coach’s strategy as you play against different squads and see if your team’s strengths can expose the opposing squad’s weaknesses.

Game Format
Incorporating both full-court and half-court challenges, each game consists of three periods or “Match-Ups”:

Match Ups

5 on 5 Match Up

Full-Court. No Zone. Warm up and see who you’re up against. Where’s the mismatch? All 6 players must play in this match-up giving each team the chance to evaluate the skills of the competition.

3 on 3 Match Up

Half-court set. Different ballgame. Slow it down. Pick and rolls. Back screens and back- doors. Pound the post. Forgot to switch...your toast! What’s your advantage in this match- up?

1 on 1 Match Up

The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Mano y mano. He can’t guard me...but can you guard him? Speed vs. Size. Heart vs. Smarts. No teammates to blame. But their life is in your hands. Rep is on the line. Do it for the homies (or the honeys). Find your zone. We are all witnesses. Guard Up or Go Home.

Tie-Breaker

What if both teams are tied at the end of the three Match-Ups? No hints here. Maybe a little pressure. Just be ready when the time comes. #RUBigTime.
